Agriculture created two problems: healthy crops and more children to work the fields. The religion that emerged placed the woman's womb at its center — a cave-like portal from the spirit world into ours. Women held the highest status in society as direct representatives of the mother goddess. The stars guided when to plant and when to conceive, aligning the cosmic with the earthly in a single harmonized system.

In the mother goddess civilization, sex was not private — it was a sacred community act. Fertility cults held rituals where multiple men would mate with one woman so that the best DNA would prevail. There was no private property, no hierarchy, no marriage. Everything belonged to everyone. Sex was understood as a mechanism to communicate with the universe and discover its secrets.

Throughout most of human history, people believed that mind creates matter — that consciousness produces the brain, not the other way around. Modern science teaches matter leads to mind (brain → consciousness), yet even the best neuroscientists cannot explain how a small organ produces imagination, dreams, and awareness. The teacher notes that asking this question in neuroscience is essentially forbidden. The ancients also thought in metaphors, not literal terms — anger was a god seizing you, not merely an emotion you felt. This metaphorical thinking made them far more creative than we are today.

As populations grew, resources became scarce. The most valuable resource? Women — because only they could give birth. Young men cast out from their communities became like wolf packs, raiding villages to capture women. To motivate men to fight, they were given a reward: a wife who belonged to them alone. And with that, property, hierarchy, and marriage were born. The role of women collapsed; the age of men began.

When two societies went to war, it was as if their gods went to war too. If you lost, your god was inferior — you accepted the winner's god as supreme. This is how the Greek pantheon formed: Zeus's followers won the most wars, so Apollo, Ares, and Aphrodite became his children. The gods were no different from mortals — they chased women, fought, schemed — except they lived forever. Above the gods sat older forces: Fortune, Fate, and the unwritten, immutable laws of the universe. Being lucky mattered more than being good.

The Roman Empire needed to impose a single reality on all its subjects. Christianity provided the tool: one true God. This introduced three concepts that are counterintuitive to human nature. Truth: if there's one God, there must be one truth. Evil: moving away from that truth is not just unwise — it is evil. The Individual: your faith in the one true God matters more than your family, community, or tradition. You can step outside your people and act alone. These three ideas — truth, evil, the individual — underpin the entire modern world. But they could not coexist with the rich, intuitive polytheistic worldview. Monotheism had to destroy it.

You can never kill an idea. When polytheism was suppressed, the fertility cults that women once led went underground as mystery schools — organizations dedicated to preserving the ancient knowledge, especially that mind leads to matter. The elite joined because the schools offered powerful rituals inherited from the mother goddess civilization. Members were sworn to secrecy on pain of death. When Christianity made these schools a threat to the empire, they became secret societies — the Knights Templar, the Rosicrucians, the Illuminati, the Freemasons. Their core mission has never changed: protect the secret that the god we worship is not the true god, and that consciousness creates reality.

The Bible is, at its core, a story of covenants — contracts between God and humanity. Adam: Paradise in Eden, with one rule — don't eat from the tree of knowledge. They eat it; they're banished. Noah: God destroys the wicked world with a flood, saves Noah, then promises never to destroy the world again. Abraham: God picks a good man to father a chosen nation (Israel) and gives them a promised land. Moses: The Israelites become slaves in Egypt; God frees them through Moses and gives them the Ten Commandments. David: God finds his ideal king and promises David's house will rule Israel forever. Jesus: God sends his son to die for humanity's original sin, freeing everyone — not just Israelites — to have a relationship with God.

The teacher poses a provocative question: of all the covenant figures — Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David — who most likely wrote the Bible? Probably David. He's the one who declares himself the person God loves most, whose family will rule the world by divine will. The first five covenants define Judaism. All six define Christianity — with Jesus as the final prophet and God himself. Jews believe a future figure will restore David's kingdom, but it won't be Jesus.

If you're a smart reader of the Bible, three things make no sense. The Fruit: Why would God banish humanity from paradise for eating a piece of fruit? What was so terrible about it? The Flood: God destroyed the world because humans were wicked. After the flood, they were still wicked. What was the point? If God is omniscient, shouldn't he have known? Jesus: Why did God have to send his only son to die? Why couldn't he just forgive humanity? The teacher grew up in the Christian West and says: the story of Jesus never made sense to him, even as a child.

Why did God really destroy the world? Not because of human wickedness — because of the Nephilim. Angels who were supposed to watch over humanity came down, saw that human women were beautiful, and had children with them. These children — half-angel, half-human — were superhumans who enslaved humanity, then fought among themselves. Think of the Avengers having children who become tyrants. God had to destroy them, but since the Nephilim are part divine, they cannot truly die. Their mortal bodies perished in the flood, but they became demons living in the shadows. The Bible calls them "the heroes of old, warriors of renown" — Hercules, Achilles, Theseus. The old polytheistic heroes recast as angel-human hybrids.

In the beginning is the Monad — the true God, the divine sun at the core of existence. The Monad is so powerful that its breath vibrates divine energy. Over millions of years, these vibrations create new life forms called Dyads (divine pairs, male and female), who in turn emanate more beings, more layers of reality. The entire universe is vibrational energy — the breathing of cosmic beings. Over eons, these vibrations become atoms, which become matter. This is what "mind leads to matter" literally means: consciousness vibrating into physical existence.

One of the Dyads — Sophia (Wisdom) — decides she can be as great as the Monad. The Monad can create without a partner; Sophia tries to do the same. She produces a child alone, without her counterpart. The result is a monstrosity: the Demiurge. Sophia, horrified, hides this creature in a sea of clouds where no one can find it. The Demiurge, isolated and ignorant of the higher reality, believes he is the one true God. So what does he create? Us. Planet Earth. Adam and Eve. A prison — built by a false god who doesn't even know he's false.

In the Gnostic reading, Jesus was not the son of the Demiurge. He was a cosmic being sent by the Monad to tell humanity the truth: you are in a prison created by a false god, but there is still a spark of the Monad inside you — a divine light you can activate. Jesus's message was simple: reject money, materialism, competition, and grades. Love one another. Pursue spiritual happiness. When you die, your soul — which is part of the Monad — can escape this prison world and return to the source. Jesus died because the Roman Empire and the Nephilim could not allow this truth to spread. The truth-tellers must always be killed.

John Milton — rebel, freethinker, passionate advocate of free speech — wrote Paradise Lost while blind, dictating it to secretaries. Secret societies regard him as a prophet. In the poem, Satan and the fallen angels are trapped in Hell after losing their war against God. They debate what to do. Some want to build an empire; others want to rest. Satan proposes vengeance: corrupt Adam and Eve, destroy humanity forever. But who will make the perilous journey through Hell's gates and the void of space to reach Earth? No one volunteers. Satan rises and delivers his heroic speech: I am your leader, therefore I must bear the greatest risk. You stay here. I go alone.

The serpent's argument to Eve is devastating in its logic. God said: eat the fruit and you will die. The serpent responds: I ate the fruit. I'm still alive. I gained the power of speech. Then comes the philosophical knockout punch — if God is truly good, he would reward you for daring to seek more knowledge, not punish you. The threat of death is a test. A true God wants you to become better through transgression, through making mistakes, through disobeying authority. There are only two possibilities: either God is testing you (and wants you to eat the fruit), or God is enslaving you and keeping you ignorant because he's afraid you'll become like him.

The teacher — who studied Milton at Yale — was taught that Satan is the clever deceiver and Eve is the fool. But then he asks the class to actually read Genesis. God said: eat the fruit and you will die. The serpent said: you will not die — your eyes will be opened and you will be like God. What actually happened? "Then the eyes of both were opened." They did not die. They gained knowledge. Satan told the truth. Then comes the real reason for the banishment. God says: "The man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now he might reach out and take from the tree of life and live forever." There were two trees — knowledge (mind of God) and life (immortality of God). God banished Adam and Eve not as punishment for disobedience, but because if they ate from both trees, they would become gods themselves. Satan was telling the truth. God was lying to Adam and Eve all along.

If you eat the fruit and you're wrong, you die. There are no second chances. So how did Eve know with absolute certainty that the serpent was telling the truth? The answer is the light within. The true God — the Monad — still speaks to us. The false god lies to us through the external world, through authority, through fear. But inside your heart is a light that connects you back to the Monad. That light tells you what is true and what is false. Eve listened to the light. She knew.

When you pray, according to the secret societies, you're praying to the false god. The true god is already inside you. Don't look outward — look inward. Believe in yourself. Make mistakes — it's okay, because mistakes expand the imagination of the universe and help the Monad grow. Listen to the light within you, and it will tell you how to redeem yourself. Every mistake becomes your strength, because it becomes part of your wisdom. The possibility for redemption, growth, and imagination is within us because of our connection to the Monad. But you must first believe in yourself — and that often means defying authority, breaking rules, and transgressing against what society tells you is acceptable.

The secret societies believe the Nephilim are not ancient history — they are still with us. The richest and most powerful families in the world are the descendants of these angel-human hybrids who have been accumulating power for thousands of years. They control the prison that the Demiurge created. It was against them, and against the empire they maintain, that the secret societies were founded. The Nephilim will be a recurring theme throughout the semester, because understanding them is the key to understanding why secret societies exist and what motivates them to this day.
